Present Continuous Game: rules and examples
Use the present continuous for an action happening now or a temporary situation around the present. Build it with am, is or are + a verb ending in -ing. The examples below show the patterns you will meet in the game.

Affirmative: am, is or are + -ing
Use am with I, is with he, she and it, and are with you, we and they. Words such as now, look and at the moment often signal an action in progress.
I am reading now.
I + am + readingShe is making lunch.

Negative: put not after am, is or are
Keep the -ing verb after not. You can shorten is not to isn't and are not to aren't.
He is not working today.

Questions: move am, is or are before the subject
Start a present continuous question with the helping verb, then the subject and the -ing verb. Do not add do or does.

Present continuous or present simple?
Use present simple for habits and many states. Use present continuous for an action in progress or a temporary change.
She walks to work every day.
Habit: present simpleShe is walking to work today.

Common mistakes to catch
Check the helping verb, the -ing spelling and the meaning of state verbs. Drop the final e in make → making; double the final consonant in sit → sitting. Know, need and believe usually stay in present simple.
